Most states in America already have reimbursement systems in place that pay for up to 80 percent of the cost to install home solar systems. West Virginia is sadly not one of those states because of the low cost of our electricity.
My bill runs on average $350 a month. I don’t know about you, but to me that is not an insubstantial amount.
It’s time for our politicians to actually do something for their people instead of lining the pockets of the utility companies.
They preach about lowering our carbon footprint but won’t pass simple legislation to actually give us the tools to do it with. Meanwhile their family of two lives in a 10-bedroom mansion and takes their private jet to and from Washington, D.C.
They want to switch to electric cars but want us to fuel them with electricity from coal and gas-fired power plants.
In this day and age every home should have solar power, there is one reason why this is not so — greed. They can’t make money from someone who makes their own electricity.
